SPECIFIC™ is a content management system specially designed for fine arts institutions. Developed by Jay Van Buren and Bill Ye in 2002, Specific is now in use by 6 contemporary fine art galleries, one modern masters gallery, one decorative arts gallery and one museum. Its comprehensive features and flexible structure make it possible for gallery or museum staff to maintain all aspects of their site without any special knowledge, while the look of each site is entirely unique.

SPECIFIC is now compatible with ArtBase. ArtBase customers will be able to save time and money by uploading information on artists, artworks and exhibitions directly from ArtBase to their SPECIFIC website using a unique upload and import function.
